Panasonic Ultra HD Blu-ray player reviewed

The first Ultra HD Blu-Ray player to land in Australia has arrived!
The Panasonic DMP-UB900 is set to be the first device to play the round things in this fine country, though several other major brands (we're looking at you, Philips) are planning to release similar products in the coming weeks. We know the question you are all asking, loyal readers, and yes, we have recieved an early testing unit so that we can tell you jn an entirely unbiased manner whether this is worth your hard-fought moneys.

Panasonic DMP-UB900- **/5
First of all, this is a smooth operator. Many of the units we have seen over in the great land that calls itself America have been clunky loads of dreck. This, on the other hand, does just what we expect of Panasonic: It brings the innovation to you. What isn't so smooth, on the other hand, is the pricing of these titles. A standard copy of the recent Matt Damon flop The Martian will cost you over $50 from Amazon (And that's for a Matt Damon movie!). In our opinion, if you want the clearest image and have no regard for good movie selection or price, then this is the product for you. Even better, this is a good example of a blu-ray player, with only slight load times and a good interface. But for the rest of us, who don't like having their minds rotted with boring cinema at 4 times regular HD, I'd advise you to stay away. Even Netflix doesn't work much in its favour, as Netflix 4K movies are few and far between. Fail for Panasonic.
NOTE: This info is obsolete crap. Samsung has released their entry to the world of pixels.
